THE BRISTOL SCALE
Doctors use the Bristol stool scale to sort poo into seven types. 3 and 4 are the healthy
ones; 1–2 means constipation and 6–7 diarrhoea. In the game a healthier poo scores more points.
B1 · Separate hard lumps – badly constipated
B2 · Lumpy sausage – a bit constipated
B3 · Cracked sausage – healthy
B4 · Smooth soft sausage – the ideal
B5 · Soft blobs – a bit loose
B6 · Mushy mess – loose
B7 · Watery diarrhoea – runs straight through
HOW TO FILL THE COLLECTION
Every poo you do in a WC ticks one box: its Bristol type (row) × colour (column).
What you eat in the hours before decides both.
Harder (B1–2): rice, cheese, bananas, chocolate; skip drinks and hold it in for long.
Healthy (B3–4): porridge, salad and water.
Looser (B5–7): coffee, prunes, spicy kebab, energy drinks, beer, milk.
Red: beetroot · Green: spinach pancakes & salad · Blue: blueberry pie ·
Black: salty liquorice · Pale: burgers & pizza with little fibre ·
Orange: nothing but oranges & carrots · Brown: everything else.
Diet missions are good recipes: the result card shows what each diet produced.
THE PEE CHART
Urine colour shows how well you are drinking. Doctors and sports coaches use a chart
like this. Aim for pale straw or pale yellow. Every pee in a WC fills one colour in the chart.
Clear – drinking more than you need
Pale straw – well hydrated ✓
Pale yellow – well hydrated ✓
Yellow – fine, have a drink soon
Dark yellow – slightly dehydrated
Amber – dehydrated, drink water
Honey – very dehydrated
Brown ale – severely dehydrated
Pink – beetroot (harmless, "beeturia")
Neon yellow – B vitamins from energy drinks
In the game the colour follows how much you have drunk today: every drink lightens it
and every hour without one darkens it a little. Skip drinks all day and by the evening it is brown.
Peeing does not change it. In real life: if your pee stays dark although you drink, or is
red or brown without beetroot, see a doctor.
